The Hub Cleaning Tool (HCT) is an ROV operated tool for cleaning hubs. It consists of disc brushes driven by a hydraulic motor.
Description
The HUB Cleaning Tool (HCT) is an ROV operated tool for cleaning hubs. The brushes are spring loaded to ensure an even pressure on the seal surface and take up misalignment. Acid can be added through canals in the brushes. Hydraulic power and acid are supplied through a hot stab.
The tool has a parking receptacle for the hot stab when not in use. Four guides/hub stopper ensure the tool is correctly placed on the hub. An indicator will confirm correct tool interface with the hub. The HCT have a rubber skirt to prevent the tool to hook up in the open clamp when entering or retrieving the hub.
