Dynamic Laser Scanning Skid

The Sonardyne dynamic laser scanning skid is a turn-key survey solution comprising of all the equipment and software, pre-configured and calibrated, to enable plug-and-play high resolution geo-referenced underwater surveys.

Description

The Sonardyne dynamic laser scanning skid is a turn-key survey solution comprising of all the equipment and software, pre-configured and calibrated, to enable plug-and-play high resolution geo-referenced underwater surveys for applications including: contactless metrology, field mapping, pipeline inspections and route surveys, mooring chain inspection, inland waterway inspections, scour surveys, seabed coral/fauna/habitat mapping, wreck surveys, and drilling mud surveys.

The factory-supplied equipment is pre-configured to ensure it can be mobilised as quickly as possible while reducing risks and complexity commonly associated with piecemeal sensor integrations.

Dynamic laser scanning skid offers unprecedented resolution through 3D point cloud models delivering quantifiable datasets with guaranteed certainty that is missing in other survey methods. Since the survey is contactless, high levels of detail are captured without interfering with assets or stirring up sediment that can cause operation-halting low-visibility conditions otherwise.

The speed and time-to-data of dynamic surveying means that 3D true-scale digital twins of entire underwater fields can be captured just as quickly as the ROV can traverse it. For metrology operations, data collection time over a baseline is in the order of minutes and the resolution is in the order of millimetres all the ROV simply needs to do is fly within visibility of the targets.

Key features

  • Wide-Area Digital Twins: ultra-high-resolution 3D models of entire underwater assets to assess integrity
  • High-Accuracy Reliably Data: 3D models with millimetre accuracy using the Voyis Insight laser scanner and high-grade Sonardyne INS
  • Simplified Integration: pre-integrated and tested with high accuracy navigational sensors to eliminate complex system integration and validation

Technical Information

The skid supports the standard bolting arrangements to typical workclass ROV skids such as Kystdesign, Schilling, InstallerPerry, etc. and is fully certified to support the weight of workclass ROVs. Adaptor plates available for other ROV types.
